It’s National Apprenticeship Week from the 5 to 11 February

This week highlights the amazing work of employers and apprentices across England and raises awareness about apprenticeship opportunities.

The theme for NAW 2024 is ‘Skills for Life’, looking at the skills and knowledge that can be developed through an apprenticeship.

What are apprenticeships?

Apprenticeships are jobs with training, they are available in a wide range of job sectors, from looking after animals to working in the legal profession. You learn job-specific skills whilst earning a wage, you also get time off for training or study. If you are thinking about an apprenticeship and want to find out more about them, take a look at the Apprenticeships page on izzy-info.

Apprenticeship vacancies

Islington’s Youth Employment Bulletin and the Weekly Opportunities Bulletin have details of apprenticeship vacancies and are updated weekly with new opportunities. You can find them on the Latest vacancies and opportunities page on izzy-info.

Also take a look at Islington Working and Islington Council Vacancies for local apprenticeship opportunities.

If you are in college or sixth form and looking for a higher or degree apprenticeship, Amazing Apprenticeships has a list of nationwide vacancies.

You can also search for apprenticeship vacancies at https://www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship

T levels

If you are unsure about apprenticeships, and think you would like to try a mix of classroom learning and work placements first, you could consider doing a T level. Discover more about them on the T levels website.
