RNIB Low Vision Centre
RNIB Low Vision Service (previously Judd Street) is based at the new RNIB building in London. We provide NHS funded low vision assessments and NHS eye tests for adults living with sight loss in Islington or Camden. We also provide eye care for adults in these boroughs who have learning disabilities. You can be referred for a low vision assessment by any health or social care professional. You can also self refer by calling 020 7391 2241 or emailing us. The service is by appointment only and we are open Monday – Friday 9.30-4.30. The centre also has a resource centre and demonstration kitchen and living area designed to give you ideas about how to adapt your home and work environment.
If you are unable to leave your home we can offer a home visit low vision assessment and eye test
You do not have to be registered as sight impaired or severely sight impaired to use the service. If you are having difficulties with your day to day activities due to visual impairment that cannot be corrected by spectacles or contact lenses you would find this service of help. You will be assessed by a low vision specialist optometrist and linked directly with the sensory needs visual rehabilitation specialist at social services.
